Donna Banks, Owner of Donna Banks Pet Photography (donnabankspetphotography.com) started helping Ruff Start New Beginnings raise funds, by doing the Pet Santa photos, at the Pet Value in Bowmanville. As a photographer, she's also been assisting shelters with photographing dogs and cats, to help them find their forever loving home.

 The 2024 Dogs of Durham Region Calendar is ready for fundraising!

Contestants submit a photo of their dog to the pet calendar website, for a small fee, of about $5. Voters get to vote on their favourite(s), also for a small fee, of about $1 per vote. These fees are part of the fundraiser, for Ruff Start New Beginnings. 

Throughout the contest, if donations from potential sponsors can be obtained, there will be the opportunity for mini-contests. For example, “earn the most new votes by Friday at 8pm and win (the mini-contest prize). Those additional votes have the potential to raise more funds.

Other ways to raise funds, would be for contestants, who reside outside the Durham Region area, and wish to have their pet in the calendar, may be able to reserve a non-dated grid spot, by submitting a photo, for a small fee, of about $10.  

The top 13 dogs, with the most votes, will all be grand prize winners and will be photographed by Donna Banks Pet Photography for the 2024 calendar. The calendar will be designed by me and be available for purchase, on demand. Once again, all monies received for the calendars, will go directly to Ruff Start New Beginnings, through a direct deposit donation management system.
