Millennium Square Free Public Stargazing

Friday 02 August 2019, 06:00pm - 11:00pm
Hits : 710

Everyone is invited to join us and Durham Skies on August 2 for stargazing at the edge of Lake Ontario. Take a free look through different kinds of telescopes (including solar-filtered scopes) to get close-up looks at sunspots, craters on the Moon, the summertime constellations, and the planets Jupiter and Saturn. Peer deep into space and try your hand at spotting faint star clusters and nebulae. If you have a telescope and would like some advise on how to use it, bring it with you and we'd be happy to help.

Everything gets underway at 6:00pm with solar-filtered telescopes providing views of sunspots and prominences. Millennium Square is located at the south end of Liverpool Road, Pickering.

Please check our website during the day on August 2 before heading to the Square for a GO/NO-GO decision based on the weather.

Location : Pickering, Millennium Square
